Imagine small time business people whom you cannot expect to know a common language like english, or places like India where there are severel languages. They will really have tough time to close the deals. Are the days far when this barrier will be broken?.

We are seeing language converters rampant, well I heard that at the UNO conferences the world leaders get to hear the speech given in some other language translated impromptu, when the other speakers speak in their own language. If that level of speech recognition and translation is implemented is that so tough for a mobile company to provide a language translation service as part of the normal service or is it that it does not really make good business sense? I donot know but I would like to see such things one day.
Foget about the telephone companies, Iam sure skype, msn messenger, google talk, yahoo talk etc...will be starting first on this.

MobiSite - A mobile held Web Site

The world is full of information exchange. With the advent of web, businesses have got a wider reach. Just log into a website and search for what you want and go to your service provider website and get what you want.
I have a shorter version of it. Iam a service provider say a Doctor. I am ready for a service with in 50 miles of a region. The whole way of reaching me through the website or yellow pages search is not that coool. So what I want to say is all service providers should have some thing like a MobiSite. This is a tiny webservice concept in my mobile phone that is throwing the information related to my service on air. If a client wants a service take a mobile or a PDA and search for what service he/she wants with in that region. Bingo!! you have the list of people who have been throwing their information in that region.

Well this is the coolest technology I think we will see in future. The whole idea seems to be very very sexy.

google + keyhole + EA sports + skype = Virtual Reality

As my heading says Iam talking about mixing so many technologies to make it a complete cyber world. Take the keyhole 3D Map and route technology, Googles location search technology, EA sports animation and skypes voice messaging service and club all of them you have just created a virtual world.

Chatting on yahoo msn etc seem to be too old a way to meet new people and explore the world. We are all now set to experience the new fruits of technology.

Talking to my client over the telephone or even the vedio conference seems to be not upto the standard. Is there any better way to meet my clients. Enter this virtual world iam dreaming about.

Iam an end user, I choose the looks I want, EA sports will render my cool graphic looks. I am logged into this world like I log into yahoo or msn. I have my own house, my own street, my own city, country all these keyhole can manage to render. I can walk on the streets of keyhole rendered real world demographical structures animated to perfection, I can talk(skpe will manage your voice). Iam now represented completely as an animation object in the computer and my world is completely represented and now why wait go and explore the world. Meet some others who logged into our virtual world on your way. Talk to them, making everything closer to reality. Explore the world from your window of a computer.

The coolest entertainment centres have only websites now. They can have their stores in this new virtualworld and if thats the coolest place they can attract people to come there.

Well a lot of literature can be written given this idea of seeing the world from the window of your computer, I endup wishing I will be part of such a world or part of building such a world.

Name, Address, Phone number…..what's next on my address book. Is it maploc??

With the power and popularity of keyhole and region/map searches by google it appears we will soon have a next item in our address books. Lets call it by the name "maploc"(Or what ever u fancy). This maploc is a googlemap search relative locator information thats on your address book either on computer, pocket PC or whatever devise you have. On this locator you just click it, it will show the way to go from your own location. or you feed it to your gprs on your CAR it will show the nearest location on your GPRS screen. Whole set of common API to identify a persons location graphically. Definitely a cool thing to have

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nextgentech.blogspot.com/2005/05/name-address-phone-numberwhats-next-on.html' title='Name, Address, Phone number…..what's next on my address book. What if there exists unstability and insecurity everywhere and the population explosion becomes unmanageable. Should the Human race continue its existance in utter lifelessness because of social problems??? If technology has to come to aid in such scenarios the solution has to be The Matrix(my understanding could be different to yours...)

What is The Matrix? Before thinking about The Matrix let us talk about some related topics. Have you ever heard about the power of a subconscious mind? A little back ground ........

Our mind can be logically grouped into two divisions the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is responsible for all of our actions that we do involuntarily..like breathing, closing eyes frequently, walking to your home without thinking on where u are going etc. And the conscious mind is the other thinking mind that we use for everyday living. The conscious mind writes some standard rules or some well practised processes to the sub conscious mind and the subconscious mind controls that routine processes with out questioning. There have been some technological uses of understanding this process. One is the Hypnotism. This is a process effectively used in medicine. The doctor controls ur subconscious mind with his mind(by talking). He convinces your subconscious mind telling you that the surgery he is performing will be painless. And you belive it and you donot feel any pain at all. This way best surgeories are performed with out an anasthesia. Now what is that with this background.....? well The Matrix is similar to this concept.......

The Matrix is nothing but an electronic system where the system takes control of your subconscious mind.

There are quite a lot of advantages with this.
1. Teach individuals good things in life.
2. The Governaments can manage thier people effectively by making them to be good citizens.
3. Make them relieved of all the monetory pleasures inherent in human minds.... what not...countless advantages......

Now i get the feeling its not impossible......................

Nice to have in an email software........

Some kind of drag and drop availability in an emailing software can add value to a better user interface. This requirement is here to stay and make the world a smaller place. my Adventure here is to try to summarise What good things can make this collaboration software a next generation one.

I can think of the following MUST BE features.
1. Blogging abilities
2. Task Tracking
3. Message boards
4. emails
5. chatting including text, voice and video conversation
6. Net meeting or I-meeting software
7. Calander
8. Sticky notes
9. Dictionary
10. News & feed Service.
11. Alerting Service
12. Documents and presentations making Software and Hardware
13. Items manager

In Detail
1. Blogging abilities
3 profiles of a person have to reflect in a blog. One is a work profile. All the blogs in this work profile are related to his project. Two is the Organization profile. The blogs here are related to various things of the persons organization ie technology reviews, ideas on company processes and systems etc....the third is the personal profile which include blogs on personal affairs which can be shared with colleagues for a better friendly relation. This should be enough to give a complete understanding of a person in an organization.
2. Task Tracking
Tasks are countable units of work that are basic elements of workflow in an organization. Tasks are created tracked and stored for knowledge as part of any project.
3. Message boards
Message or bulliten borads are places of discussions on various development topics. These are various ideas of severel team members in achieving particular tasks and which help making better decisions
4. emails
Everyone knows about this
5. chatting including text, voice and video conversation
Self Explanatory
6. Net meeting or I-meeting software
A place where people can have online meetings sharing each others desktop.
7. Calander
8. Sticky notes
Stick something on desktop to prioroties
9. Dictionary
10. News & feed Service
11. Alereting systems.
Alert me if something happens
12. Documents and presentations Making software and Hardware
13. Items manager
Documents, photoes, videos, books, contacts and songs Manager made personal and sharable Online.

We have all this accessible in market but if they come from one roof that would be very great to see. Probably Over a long run all are going to be from the opensource. But if a commercial Company with Database at the backend comes up with all these it would be wonderful to see. There are some good suites in the market like Oracle Collaboration suite etc but they need renovation and lot of additions.

Shall update more if I can think of any more requirements for my dream collaboration suite

Media history and future an interesting account ....

worth a visit.
http://www.broom.org/epic/

Pocket PC Next Generation .......

I recently bought a Pocket PC. No doubt Its a fabulous one, but there is always a scope for improvement. On this lines, I was thinking on what more could this have, to be more valuable and here I go.....

There is a windows media player in built in it. But I dont think anybody would fancy watching a movie on such a small screen. The current LCD Screen can definitely not be enlarged, if so, it wouldn't be called a pocket pc, but the images can certainly be projected like an infrared beam is being projected now. If the pocket pc can act as a powerful projector of vedio images then one can have a big screen experience. Just put on your ear phones, start the projector and point it on to a white wall or any screen at less than a meter distance and Enjoy the movie. Power of mobile media in your hands. This Projecting capability can also make playing pocket pc games interesting.

It is desirable to have this projecting power on the small pocket pc, but the capability of having the power to project images in a small pocket devise can be quite daunting due to technology costs and complications. There is a cradle that comes along with the pc, may be its capability can be enhanced to do this bit of projecting.

Small is beautiful if it can do real big things. If it cant be achieved today and technology is a factor then its certainly for next generation. Hope we see such things tomorrow.

On Sports Shoe this time

I expect it could be true that many people who buy sports shoe are into weight training or weight conscious. So why not have a weight indicator on the shoes. I believe this could be technologically costly to have on shoes but why not. Now a days Weight sensors seem to be ubiquitous like in supermarkets, household gadgets etc. Size of the sensor and how comfortably can it fit could be some factors to consider but Iam sure we shall be seeing something like this soon. Just stand and Bend to see your weight.

Caution: Your wife may not like it. She cant lie anymore. Her weight is just your lift away.

Whats Next from Google.

In the race of dumping the world with technological innovations, Google seems to have taken a lead. If you are in search of anything on the web, www.google.com is anybodie's first stop. You can search webpages, you can search addresses to places, you can search journals and thesies documents and so on, and to this sequel, I believe, it might add value if Google had the following feature too. Let us call it 'Google vedios' for now.
I might be a Travel conossiuer, willing to have a first hand feel of a new place, or I might not be a rich guy to visit many reputed places in the world, or I might want to get a feel of traffic on one of the busiest roads in my city or I might just want to browse on whats interesting with people in some remote city in a remote country or I just want to see how newyear celebrations are going on in paris, what do I do?. Something like Google Vedios can be an answer to all these.
Today most of the famous cities are covered by live police vedios, TV channel vedios etc. there are also live vedios available at famous turist spots in the world. Such vedio coverage is lot more in US. Google can tie up with such networks for source of live vedio streams of a place or region and if any user from any remote place wants to see whats going on there, the vedio can be streamed onto his broswer window. If the user searches for information of a city all the famous vedio files available from various websites can be pointed at, this should not be tough job for any famous search tool at all. Implementing all this calls for some major improvements in speed of vedio streaming and also quite an effort is needed to connect to all the live vedios available. But definitely this is worth Next Generation.
The days might not be far when you type in "New york + Madison Square Garden" at a website and you might be watching whats going on there, live.

Entertainment Next Generation

Are you not fed up of seeing somebody else play a hero in many movies you like?. Do you go to a cinema to see somebody else romance your favourite heroine. We are shooting next James Bond Film, the current Bond is not upto the standard, would you mind playing Bond for Us? Why not? If thats what entertains us, thats how we shall use our technology for.

You walk into our office on a fine day and tell us which role you want to play and in which film. You are our Hero and let us shoot you with a camera from all directions. Come back after two weeks and take home a DVD or a film which casts you along with your favourite heroines. Well all our Software does is replace the not so good hero in a film and put you in there. Its all like how during the initial days of still cameras, people went to studios to get themselves photoed. This seems to be a near possible achievable target.

Would'nt it be so nice... Why not people find it interesting and share with friends, things like this http://www.lintukoto.net/viihde/mielenosoitus/kuva.php?teksti=Anil%20Is%20great
(u can replace the bold text above with what ever u want).

If you find all this interesting, the happy days are ahead, Just wait till Warner Bros or Microsoft hire me for this task Or wait till I write the required software myself.

On Further talking about next generation entertainment. In future, I think people will invent some ways of enforcing morphing techniques on brain. We go to a theatre which might look like a gadget shop and we sit in our chair and put on a helmet kind of stuff and just relax, Like the way Neo or Morpheus enter an imaginary world sitting in their seats in the film The Matrix. we would then be Watching (well watching might be a wrong word here, better I call it Experiencing) the movie in which we look just like the way we want to appear playing a lead role in the movie.

Next to Films the other biggest form of entertainment is animation games. The current games or technology can just provide a vicarious thrill by letting one, control the anchor. Compared to Movies, there is a far better scope here to entertain with a real world experience that is otherwise not possible in practical world due to financial, physical or whatever constraints it might impose. The barriers that are imposed financially to give an end user a better experiece can be overcome by having theatres for animation games. Theatres where we have a closed room amidst the gadgets that aid in giving a better experience can be constructed as one time investment. Like a new movie is released a new game can be released by various sources and the game should be compatible with existing infrastructure at the Game-Theatres. If the technology here can make things interesting, There is every possibility that People will flood such theatres and see themselves in the imaginary world that the game takes them to.

Let us wait for such a day. Who knows the day might be round the corner.

Good Accessory for a mobile phone

This is for somebody who often forgets his/her luggage while on travel. Take two or three RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) enabled cards and put them in ur luggage bags and the cellphones have to be enhanced to keep track of the luggage when you are around.
